E leven weeks post op - time flies... sort of. I'll be the first to admit, this whole recovery thing is a lot damn harder than I ever imagined. Before my surgery I had it in my mind that because I was young, healthy (minus the FAI and torn labrum), and in relatively good shape from working my butt off pre-op, that this wouldn't be a big deal... WRONG. Turns out my hip flexor muscles are incredibly weak, setting my back a few steps and causing quite a bit of pain over the past week. This is slowing up the process more than I was anticipating. I still can't drive. I still can't get dressed or put on my sneakers the way I normally would - definitely not what I expected at eleven weeks post op. BUT, I cannot waste any more time dwelling on the things I can't do, I have to focus on how far I have come and the things that I can do. I remind myself each day that this is a journey to see how well I can recover, not a race to see how fast I can recover.
